Anomics is a social science that studies anomie—the breakdown of moral values and habits that previously served as guidance for an individual. Humanistas coined the term "The Great Anomic Crisis" to refer to the era of wild and reckless human augmentation unleashed by the invention of the Wavyverse. This era was marked by the breakdown of religious and educational institutions, a psychological pandemic of social overstimulation, anxiety, depression, and suicide, as well as a flourishing of technological innovations and new experiments in how to live.
